Do I need to be fit or flexible to do yoga?
At Dartmoor Yoga classes we will tailor the practice to suit your needs , and modifications will be offered.
I have a medical condition - does this mean that I cannot take part in a class?
Not at all – you will be very welcome. Modifications can be made to postures that enable you to enjoy the class and gain the benefits yoga can bring.
I will ask you to complete a medical questionnaire , and this information will be held in confidence in accordance with Data Protection legislation.
Is yoga suitable for men?
Yes – many men already enjoy and benefit from a regular yoga practice.
Many sportsmen now include yoga as part of their training programme.
When is the best time to start yoga?
Now. Yoga is suitable for everyone – regardless of your age or ability.
What do I need to wear?
It is important to be comfortable so that you can relax and move into each posture, and also to have the space to breathe deeply and comfortably.
No special clothing is needed , a t shirt and some comfortable trousers will be fine.
Please wear an extra layer or fleece and if you have a cosy blanket bring this along for our relaxation practice at the end of class.
Do I need any special equipment?
You can practice yoga anywhere without any equipment.
However a yoga mat is needed to keep your feet stable in standing postures.
