I have been going to Claire’s Wednesday morning sessions at Gunnislake Village Hall since the end of last year. Claire is great at leading the sessions. She keeps things varied, is clearly aware of peoples limitations, suggesting alternative poses if necessary, but also challenges us. She always makes the classes fun.
I never thought I would like yoga but Claire is brilliant and I absolutely love it and feel sooooo much better – looking forward to more classes in the New Year xx.
Fantastic Claire – as a cyclist I am prone to tight hip flexors and hamstrings and need a bit of a kick up the glutes to motivate me to stretch it out religiously afterwards.
If you are a cyclist or a triathlete and you want to work on your breathing, posture and flexibility, then the yoga for cyclists sessions are brilliant.
Loosened it all up and made hopping on the bike after a busy week cycling a pleasure.

I started yoga practice with Claire towards the end of 2017. I had had a back problem for 6 months earlier in the year and I needed to make sure it didn’t happen again. Claire’s class has helped me a lot. I am regaining flexibility and gradually building up strength. Claire is a lovely kind teacher, who lets you practice at your own speed and will help you find a modified position, should you struggle. Classes long enough for lots of time to warm up and then relax at the end . Recommended.
I started with Claire as a complete beginner in January 2018 and am about to embark on my third course with her as an improver. Thoroughly enjoying the sessions which are always varied, interesting and sometimes quite challenging.
I am over seventy years old and have never done yoga before. As a runner I thought that it might help with making me relax. Claire has a soft voice and she explains every exercise and the emphasis in only to do it if possible. Some of the positions are a little demanding but I am trying. The best of all is the breathing control, this has made my running so much better and the core strength is improving. And this is only after 2 sessions ! I have already recommended her sessions to everybody I know.
I’m a runner who has long considered adding yoga or pilates to my training mix to help with my flexibility and core strength. At long last I got round to it and signed up with Claire for her Monday evening sessions at Tavistock College. Why did I leave this so long? Apart from the fact that Claire and her Dartmmor Yoga operation has just recently launched I really don’t know.
This is the perfect workout. I have usually done a hard track session on the preceding Saturday and a long run on the Sunday, so a stretching and flexibility session is just the ticket. But it is more than that. Claire might be new to this game but she expertly takes the class through a whole range of movements, calmly explaining what is required and patiently supporting us into the correct position.
I have attended 3 classes now and thoroughly enjoyed every one as we have developed the sequence of moves and stepped up, ever so gently the intensity. I certainly can feel the benefit already. I can also tell that the others in the class are equally enjoying these sessions, after all they have come back for more.
